An Auction of Classic and Performance Cars and Motorcycles

  Lot 34

1980 Yamaha RD250LC

Registration - KAO 375V

Chassis No. - 4L1000235

M.O.T. - TBC

Odometer - 19,000

When launched in 1980, the RD250LC was pretty much the fastest two-stroke motorcycle available and retains a strong following to this day. The vendor imported this matching numbers example from Belgium, and it was first UK registered as recently as April this year. We understand the parallel-twin engine was overhauled 5,000km ago and the vendor informs us that the bike now ‘starts and runs perfectly’, and considers the powerplant and six-speed gearbox to both be in ‘excellent’ condition, and grades the frame and suspension as ‘good’, while regarding the red and white paintwork and cycle parts as ‘average’. Overall he regards ‘KAO 375V’ as a nice presentable machine that could be improved cosmetically, and therefore to be ridden and enjoyed as it is or restored, whichever suits the next keeper best.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.

Estimated at £4,000 - £5,000
