An Auction of Classic and Performance Cars and Motorcycles

  Lot 30

1980 Rickman Honda 812cc Yoshimura Conversion

Registration - ACK 8575

Chassis No. - 6781G

M.O.T. - Exempt

Odometer - 39,982

This very purposeful looking motorcycle has remained in the same ownership since 1983. The vendor believes the engine dates from 1976 and is a Honda CB750 SOHC that’s been treated to an 812cc Yoshimura conversion, including the related exhaust system. The Rickman frame is No.6781G and it rides on Kawasaki alloy wheels shod with TT100 tyres. Braking is by Brembo discs and Lockheed calipers, while the suspension features Betor front forks and adjustable Koni rear dampers. ‘ACK 8575’ is equipped with Piranha electronic ignition and comes complete with a full set of eccentric chain adjusters, alternative Rickman shorter tank and longer seat, a detachable main stand for ease of maintenance, plus a box of assorted parts associated with this unique offering.

The Rickman name is synonymous with both competition and road bikes. Established by brothers Derek and Don Rickman in c.1960, the company followed the creation of specialist frames for scrambles and then road racing with the option of complete motorcycles. With the collapse of Britain’s mainstream bike industry, Rickman was at one stage the country’s largest motorcycle maker.
