The Bolesworth Castle May 2024 Classic & Performance Car Auction

  Lot 46

2009 Morgan Aero 8
Meticulously maintained with over £40,000 of expenditure, specified new with the optional automatic transmission

Registration - DA58 WNF

Chassis No. - SA9AER08048AJ0706

M.O.T. - March 2025

Odometer - 74,410

This characterful and distinctive Morgan Aero 8 takes an already-unique shape and makes it even more memorable. The special matt black paint is set off by crisp yellow multi-spoke alloy wheels – and the interior has a similarly fun and lively combination of black and yellow leather. Add in yet more distinctive yellow highlights, including front radiator grille mesh and rear diffuser, and you have surely one of the most charismatic Morgan Aero 8s in the world. This is a car that’s clearly been loved, as it’s had just two owners – and the current vendor, who purchased it eight years ago, bought it from a close friend. Included in the sale is the original order form, along with a full service history and plenty of receipts. The vendor reports the car benefits from a new chassis, belts, an upgraded water pump and full suspension overhaul. In all, around £40,000 has been spent keeping it in fine fettle. The 4.8-litre V8 engine is paired with an optional manual gearbox, and the service history and MOT records support the displayed 74,000 mileage. 'DA58 WNF’ comes with an MOT to March 2025.

The charismatic Morgan Aero 8 was introduced in 2000, after designer Matthew Humphries sent sketches to Charles Morgan while he was studying at Coventry University. The first new Morgan design since 1964, it was also the Malvern firm’s first-ever supercar, powered by a BMW-sourced V8. Originally a 4.4-litre unit, this car has the later 4.8-litre upgrade. The first Morgan to use an aluminium chassis and frame, rather than an aluminium-skinned wooden body on a steel chassis, the Aero 8’s voluptuous lines were developed in partnership with specialist firm Superform. It was evolved thoughtfully during its 18 years of production, spawning multiple similarly-unique-looking derivatives, and even found fame on the racetrack in the FIA GT series.

In summary:

· Unique Morgan Aero 8 with characterful finish outside and in

· Two-owner car has an extensive history

· No-expense-spared maintenance
