The Bolesworth Castle May 2024 Classic & Performance Car Auction

  Lot 88

2007 Land Rover Defender 90 County
Powered by the 2.4-litre TDCi unit and features numerous tasteful upgrades

Registration - L90 SFS

Chassis No. - SALLDVAS77A734501

M.O.T. - October 2024

Odometer - 130,053

This 2007 Land Rover Defender 90 is powered by the 2.4-litre TDCi engine, a modern four-cylinder motor promising easy serviceability and low running costs. Finished in metallic blue, ‘L90 SFS’ has a black chequer plate on the bonnet, roof bars with spotlights, and a snorkel – something which should prove useful should the new owner encounter flooded road conditions. Other features include side steps, a rear bench on the right-hand side, and a centre cubby box with tool kit. The smart alloy wheels feature recent tyres, and the vendor reports it has “only been used on the road as a leisure vehicle”. Condition throughout, from engine and transmission, to bodywork, paintwork and interior, is described as ‘good’. The vendor adds that sadly, the vehicle was listed as Category S, but assures that it was subsequently “repaired by a Land Rover specialist to a very high standard”. A cherished vehicle, it has an MOT to 1 October this year, and the vendor tells us that the only reason they are selling it is because they are moving overseas.

The Land Rover Defender was introduced in 1983, as a more modern development of the original Series Land Rover introduced in 1948. Visually, it retained the classic looks, but featured notable upgrades such as coil springs front and rear, a full-length bonnet, integrated headlights, single-piece windscreen and wider tracks with extended wheelarches. A true design icon, the Defender was continually developed right up until production ended in 2016 – and the name today survives in an all-new and brilliantly-conceived version that pays tribute to the original in a thoroughly modern way.

In summary:

· Metallic blue Defender 90 with distinctive styling features

· Only 'used on the road as a leisure vehicle'

· Powered by the 2.4-liter TDCi unit and featuring numerous tasteful upgrades
