An Auction of Classic and Performance Cars and Motorcycles

  Lot 2

1998 Triumph Daytona T595
*** NO RESERVE ***

Registration - R651 END

Chassis No. - SMTTE502LGW056479

M.O.T. - No M.O.T.

Odometer - 6,216 kilometres

Finished in yellow and trimmed in black, ‘R651 END’ certainly looks the part. It has had a total of seven keepers to date, the most recent of whom acquired the Triumph in 2018. He presently rates the engine as ‘excellent’, and classes the transmission, frame, suspension, paintwork, brightwork and cycle parts as all being in ‘good’ condition. Dry stored for the last two years, it is now offered complete with new battery and a history file containing service book and a selection of old invoices and MOTs.

For the first six years of its rebirth, Triumph concentrated on the production of comfortable tourers and sensible retros. However, for a UK market besotted with Honda’s immortal Fireblade, the company desperately needed a sports bike. Enter the somewhat confusingly badged but exciting Daytona T595. It featured an alloy frame with single-sided swing arm, and was powered by a 955cc version of Triumph’s now familiar and much admired DOHC three-cylinder engine which, with a healthy output of 128bhp, was capable of powering the newcomer to 160mph-plus.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.
