Chassis No. - CDD0BZ0EW102627

This 1975 Bedford TJ truck is notable for being one of the last models produced for conventional UK purchase. It has been subject to a recent restoration and the vendor proudly describes it as being in ‘excellent’ condition throughout – from engine, transmission and electrics, to bodywork, paintwork and interior. The images really do showcase its high standard of finish, and the interior is notable for its smart combination of brown vinyl, blue paint and tan carpets. This pickup model has a rear deck with folding sides, and the load bay itself is very well-finished in fresh wood. This model uses a smooth 3.5-litre inline-six cylinder petrol engine, whose nature complements this characterful Bedford perfectly. This is a rare machine – howmanyleft.co.uk estimate that there are just a very small handful left on the UK’s roads today. This 1975 Bedford TJ truck is notable for being one of the last models produced for conventional UK purchase. The well-loved Bedford TJ truck was introduced in 1958. It was the final ‘bonneted truck’ from Bedford, with the subsequent 1969 Bedford CF boasting the more space-efficient forward control layout that was becoming commonplace. The characterful Bedford still carried on being offered in the UK for another six years though – and even following its withdrawal here, it continued to be offered for export. The final cars were not produced until 1998, to meet an order from Kenya. Lancastrians are particularly familiar with the Bedford TJ, as local food company Holland’s Pies used them well into the 1980s – the Bedford was colloquially known as a ‘Holland’s pie van’ there.

In summary:
· Recently-restored Bedford is in ‘excellent’ condition
· One of the last series production UK trucks – a real rarity
· 3.5-litre inline-six cylinder engine
