Fully fitted-out boutique catering van ready to go into business

The iconic Citroen HY Van has found a second life as a staple of UK farmers’ markets and glamping festivals. Almost guaranteed to offer the best coffee in the business, the loveable Citroen HY Van is a much sought-after machine – and here’s one all ready to go into business. A 1970 model, finished in cream and orange, it was imported from France and has been with the same owner for two years. In this time, it has been serviced, fitted with a new radiator, had new wiring, disc brakes and starter motor, regular oil changes and four new tyres. The history file includes receipts from renowned classic Citroen experts which total around £8,000. 'BHY 490H' was originally a French bread van, but is now a coffee and catering van. The servicing hatch opens from the left-hand side, to reveal the fully water-tight coffee machine worth £2000 that’s installed with flojet, pump, water tank, leisure battery, waste water tank, 5000w inverter, hot water tank, handwash sink plus shelving and cupboard space. The electrics are described as ‘excellent,' while the 2000cc engine, three-speed gearbox and interior are all ‘good'.

The Citroen H-Type vans were a series of commercially-focused panel vans and light trucks produced by the French brand between 1947 and 1981. As with the original Citroen 2CV, the front-wheel drive machines sported distinctive corrugated metal outer body panels, which saved material, weight and money. Originally called Type H, they soon gained a second letter, one of the last four in the alphabet, running from HW to HZ. Most were, like this model, HY vans. Overall, Citroen built almost 475,000 H-Type models over 34 years.

In summary:

· Fully fitted out and ready for business

· Coffee machine alone is worth £2000

· Comprehensive service history showing thousands spent
