  Lot 47

1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu
Tastefully upgraded and developed and fitted with a big-block 6.9-litre V8 engine

Registration - VAM 796D

Chassis No. - 136176F120098

M.O.T. - Exempt

Odometer - 3,500

This superb 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu two-door hardtop has been completely overhauled, and the vendor says it 'looks and runs as if it’s fresh from the factory'. It comes complete with a series of tasteful upgrades that help make it more usable for modern motoring, including Wilwood front discs and calipers, upgraded dampers and anodised breather pipes. The big-block 6.9-litre V8 has also been refreshed ready for sale, with maintenance including a top-to-bottom gasket and seal replacement. It comes with receipts totalling £5000 as evidence. The vendor says it 'doesn’t just need to be seen to be appreciated… but heard!' Other fun highlights include a Sunpro rev counter with configurable shift light, trunk air horns and American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels which have been polished and clear-coated for ease of cleaning. Unique and distinctive, this stunning Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is raring and ready to start turning heads this summer.

The Chevrolet Chevelle is one of the firm’s most successful nameplates, and the top-of-the-line Malibu marked its entry into the muscle car market of the 1960s. It was available in numerous body styles, including sedans, station wagons and convertibles, but the two-door hardtop is one of the most desirable. Launched in 1963, the Chevelle sold almost 340,000 units even in its first year, and continuous development saw its appeal simply grow. Although it was a mid-size car in US terms, it remains a large model by British standards, measuring over five metres long. This, along with the rumbling V8 and classic muscle car looks, will ensure the Chevelle will be the centre of attraction wherever you go.

In summary:

  • Completely overhauled and finished to a high standard
  • Recently refreshed 6.9-litre V8 engine
  • Tasteful upgrades outside and in
