The Gold Cup Classic & Performance Car & Motorcycle Auction

  Lot 134

1999 Lincoln Navigator
** NO RESERVE ** Formerly the property of David Beckham

Registration - W77 DVB

Chassis No. - 5LMPU28A0YLJ11212

M.O.T. - April 2024

Odometer - 71,637

The registration of this 1999 Navigator, ‘W77 DVB’, is significant as the Navigator was first registered in March 2000 to David and Victoria Beckham, and it’s Victoria’s signature that appears on the V5 of the time. Its all black bodywork is paired to sumptuous cream hide upholstery and its rides on a set of highly-polished five-spoke alloy wheels. It is a seven-seater example that is powered by the later DOHC engine and has only had two keepers to date, the second of whom acquired the vehicle in September 2002. We understand it has benefited from a degree of refurbishment in recent years, and is now considered by the vendor to have an ‘excellent’ engine, bodywork and upholstery, and ‘average’ transmission and paintwork. The vendor is now offering the Lincoln complete with full service history, comprehensive photographic proof of the Beckhams’ ownership (including newspaper coverage from the day of delivery), images of the refurbishment, a pair of keys and a current MOT certificate valid to April 24 next year. The odometer presently reads 71,637km (44,513 miles).

Currently in its fourth generation, the Navigator is a full size luxury SUV marketed and sold by the Lincoln arm of Ford of America. The covers were removed from the first generation model in 1997. It shared the same bodyshell as the Ford Expedition, but styling tweaks ensured it was endowed with a unique identity. Power initially came from the company’s 5.4-litre SOHC Triton V8 engine, but during 1999 this was supplanted by the more potent DOHC InTech unit of the same capacity, that had an output of 300bhp. This drove through a four-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels. A big vehicle by any standards, it was 204.8in long and 79.8in wide. Production levels have tailed off markedly over the years, the highest to date being back in 1998, when 43,859 examples were manufactured. The 2018 version (fourth generation) was named Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto show.

In summary:

  • First registered to David and Victoria Beckham
  • Just two owners and 71,637kms (44,513 miles) from new
  • Comes with a full service history and current MOT
