Here we have a genuine one-owner car that was purchased new by the vendor from the Mitsubishi dealer Humphries & Parks of Kent on May 5 1988, and the related bill of sale for £11,200 forms part of this interesting lot. Finished in white and trimmed in black and white check cloth, the Cordia has clearly been well looked after throughout its life to date, and comes with a full service history detailing the regular maintenance that’s been carried out and confirming the veracity of the currently indicated total mileage of 113,028. We understand the engine was treated to a new timing chain in 2014, and the vendor presently regards the four-cylinder engine, five-speed manual gearbox, hatchback bodywork, paintwork and upholstery as all being in ‘excellent’ order. She is now offering this unusual model complete with sunroof, Radiomobile radio/cassette, history file and a selection of old MOTs, plus a current one valid to April 25 next year. As a result of the vendor having been a cherished vehicle member of the Mitsubishi Owners Club, the Cordia is also accompanied by a 1988 club jacket and handbook. The Cordia was a front-wheel drive hatchback coupe manufactured between 1982 and 1990 and marketed in the UK alongside the Starion, Galant and Lancer models. It was offered with a variety of engines, of which the 136bhp 1795cc turbo unit as fitted to the sale car was by far the most notable, endowing the otherwise relatively humble hatchback with a 0-60 acceleration time of c.7.5 seconds and top speed north of 125mph.
