This famous Honda NSX is a former front cover star of Banzai magazine, and even featured on a poster included with the 2018 title. The vendor imported it from Japan in 2015, giving it a full bare metal respray in 2017, where all panels were removed and undersealed. And that’s not all; this expert build features lots of rare Japanese parts as part of its custom creation – and at one point, it was the only road-going NSX in Europe with independent throttle bodies (from Toda Racing). Visual highlights include Advance-Flatout front bumper, side step and rear wing, Craft Square carbon door mirrors, a Mugen NSX-R hatchback and Rays Volk Racing TE37 alloy wheels. There are Bilstein dampers, a Fujitsubo manifold and exhaust and an original NSX-R twin-plate clutch.
‘NSX4C’ (the registration can be included if required) has Kevlar bucket seats inside, re-covered Alcantara door trim and a gorgeous Momo Tuner NSX-R steering wheel. There’s also an original NSX-R titanium gearshift knob. An extra highlight is an Alpine multimedia DVD head unit, which includes a synchronised reverse camera. The vendor describes the engine, transmission and paintwork as in ‘good’ condition, and add that the front bumper does have a crack. The car has been off the road since 2021, since they suffered an injury that means they can’t easily get in and out of it anymore – hence the reason for auction. “It’s a reluctant sale, but I need something I can use.” Today, the odometer reads 139,000 kilometres, which works out at around 86,000 miles. The vendor adds that it “turns heads everywhere it goes”.
The Honda NSX was the car that famously terrified the Italian supercar industry. Launched in 1990, it boasted advanced construction, development input from Ayrton Senna – and, most significantly, was reliable, ergonomically sound and much easier to drive than contemporary models from Ferrari and Lamborghini. It was fast and thrilling too, which all adds up to bona fide modern classic status today. It is now definitely a car to keep and treasure.
